FancyToyPoodles started with one home-raised litter and a frustration: too many good puppies came from breeders who wouldn't show their work, and too many buyers found out too late what they'd actually bought. A decade later, it's a network of 40+ certified home breeders and a process built around fit, not speed.
In 2016, our founder raised a single litter of toy poodles in her own living room and watched the same pattern over and over: buyers would ask for health records and get vague answers, or ask about temperament and get a sales pitch instead. Nobody was telling the whole story.
So the first version of FancyToyPoodles wasn't a company. It was a shared standard with a handful of trusted home breeders — full vet records, honest temperament notes, and a straight answer to "will this puppy actually fit my home?" before the sale, not after.
That standard is now what every one of our 40+ breeder partners follows. The questions haven't changed much. We just stopped letting people guess.
Each stage grew out of a buyer or breeder partner asking for something the original standard couldn't do yet.
The idea stayed simple while the network grew: raise every puppy properly, disclose everything, and make the match feel human. This decade is compressed into four moments that changed what FancyToyPoodles could do.
A full health record and honest temperament notes replace vague sales copy, for the first time.
A real home-fit questionnaire, a small team, and the first 90-day support line.
Buyers answer a few questions first and see who actually fits before they fall for the wrong face.
Every partner follows the same vetting and disclosure standard, network-wide.
We'd rather a puppy wait an extra week for the right home than get sold fast and come back. A return costs the puppy more than it costs us.
Health conditions, temperament notes, full vet history — you get the whole file before you buy, not the flattering half.
Ninety days of real support isn't a feature to upsell — it's the part of the job that actually keeps puppies settled.
We don't just list what breeders send us. Every partner is vetted, and every litter follows the same raising standard.
What's listed is what's charged. The price covers vet work already done — nothing gets added once you're attached.
Has helped match hundreds of first-time and returning buyers with the right litter — usually in one conversation.

Built the 90-day check-in program and still takes the hard calls himself when a settling-in gets rocky.
Email MarcusFancyToyPoodles is the only network that asked us for a full health file before we even scheduled a pickup.
They asked about our apartment size before showing us bigger litters. Felt like they were actually on our side.
Working here after years of independent breeding, what surprised me most is how much the 90-day follow-up actually gets used.
